Cette vitrine donne à voir, pêle-mêle, la polysémie du travail d’Isabelle Giovacchini et son goût éprouvé pour les empreintes et les emprunts. Un album de famille, dont une page est légèrement occultée par un papier de soie froissé, dialogue avec le moulage en plâtre d’un œil isolé de l’emblématique Héraklès archer ; des compositions d’après des plaques de verre originales endommagées fraient avec un moule étrange, dont l’artiste propose une restitution photographique sur la cimaise voisine ; des photogrammes, élaborés à partir d’essences florales du jardin du musée Bourdelle, affirment la pouvoir de l’artifice photographique, qui offre de fixer la beauté transitoire du monde. Cet instrumentarium, parfois mystérieux, abrite des formes et des gestes développés dans les séquences du présent accrochage.

This display case offers, in a deliberately scattered arrangement, a glimpse into the layered meanings of Isabelle Giovacchini’s work and her deep-rooted fascination with imprints and appropriations. A family photo album, with one page partially veiled beneath a sheet of crumpled tissue paper, enters into dialogue with the plaster cast of a solitary eye — detached from the iconic Herakles the Archer. Compositions derived from damaged original glass plates sit alongside a peculiar mold, for which the artist proposes a photographic interpretation displayed nearby. Photograms, crafted from botanical specimens gathered in the gardens of the Musée Bourdelle, celebrate the artifice of photography itself, which captures the fleeting beauty of the natural world. This collection of tools and fragments, at times enigmatic, houses the forms and gestures developed throughout the sequences of the current exhibition.
